Itinerary

Day 1: Seattle - Woodinville, WA

Fly into Seattle this morning. Our tour begins with a visit to Pike Place Market. One of the real highlights of the market is to view the low-flying fish at the Pike Place Fish Stall. Continue north into Wine Country. Just north of Seattle is the Woodinville Wine Country. Washington is now the second largest wine producer in the country. With over 900 winemakers in the state, over 110 wineries are in Woodinville. We’ll stop at DeLille Cellars, one of three Washington wineries to make Wine & Spirits Top 100 List. Join the group for dinner tonight at a local restaurant. (D)

Day 2: Woodinville, WA

Relax this morning before we depart on our first wine tour experience at Chateau St. Michelle. Washington State’s oldest winery is surrounded by 105 wooded acres. We’ll start with a wine tasting where we learn how to recognize and appreciate what is in each glass of wine you drink. Then we’ll stop at a local winery for a tasting of their local wines along with a picnic lunch. We’ll have some free time this afternoon to walk around the downtown area. Columbia Winery is our last stop this evening. For more than 50 years, Columbia winery has embodied the spirit of Washington’s unique and exceptional vineyard sites, rich diversity and warm, welcoming character. Join us here for dinner. (B, L, D)

Day 3: Leavenworth, WA - Yakima, WA

Leave the coast and cross the mighty Cascade Mountains where snow capped peaks stand as sentinels in the northwest sky. Soon you will think you have wandered into Europe—you’ll arrive in Leavenworth, an alpine town where all the buildings and shops are crafted in the Old-World architecture of the Bavarian mountains. Then head South to Yakima Valley, with 300 sunny days a year. We’ll stop in for our first wine tasting experience. This evening how about dinner and a movie. A spectacular night is planned under the stars. (B, D)

Day 4: Yakima Valley

Yakima Valley’s wine culture has blossomed over the last 30 years. There are over 120 wineries scattered throughout the valley. This morning our first stop is a visit to the Toppenish Murals. Then we’re off to the Walter Clore Wine & Culinary Center. This non-profit center is dedicated to champion the culture, history and industry of the Washington wines. This afternoon we’ll stop for an orchard tour at one of the many farms in this valley. This evening join the group for a dinner at a local hotspot.  (B, D)

Day 5: Yakima - McMinnville, OR

Continue our journey south into Oregon and the Hood River area. Our first stop this morning is in Hood River’s County Fruit Loop. This area produces the most delicious fruits, several which are made into hard ciders and spirits. Next, we visit Bonneville Dam and see its fish locks and ladders. Next stop we’ll see spectacular Multnomah Falls. Continue through Portland and our destination this evening, McMinnville. (B, L)

Day 6: Willamette Valley Wine Country - Oregon Coast

Willamette Valley wine country is known for Pinot Noir and is home to two-thirds of Oregon’s wineries and vineyards. We’ll stop at Red Ridge Farms, a well-known vineyard and herb farm with has over 17 acres and 13,000 olive trees. We’ll enjoy a tour of the Oregon Olive Mill with its state-of-the-art Italian Olive Press followed by a tasting. We’ll visit three different types of wineries today. This evening joins the group for a group dinner in this spectacular wine region. Then we’ll take a guided tour and tasting at Sokol Blosser Winery. Continue our journey west to the Oregon Coast for overnight. (B, L)

Day 7: Lincoln City - Portland

After a leisurely morning on the coast, we drive inland again for a stop at Left Coast Cellars. Left Coast is guided by two defining principles: a passion for making world-class wine from all Estate fruit and a deep connection to the land where they live and farm. Continue on towards Portland where we’ll stop at Ponzi Vineyards. Set atop a Northwest-facing slope of the Chehalem Mountains, the state-of-the-art winery and modern tasting room are surrounded by the majestic Avellana Vineyard. We’ll check into our hotel in Portland before we enjoy a final dinner out on the town. (B, L, D)

Day 8: Home

Today we’ll fly out of Portland for our journey home. (B)
